The Official Opening of the Queen Street Centre took place on Wednesday 22nd February and saw over 60 members of staff, service users and their families come together to celebrate the relaunch and showcase the facilities. The centre, located in Queen Street, Grimsby now houses the Adult Learning Disability Service, the Continence Service and the Moving and Handling Centre.
Cath Gregory, CPG Non-Executive Director ‘cut the ribbon’ to officially open the centre and a plaque was unveiled renaming the Moving and Handling Centre ‘The Janet Smith Suite’ in memory of Janet Smith, who was the Moving and Handling Co-ordinator for CPG for many years and who sadly passed away last year. Staff had requested the new Moving and Handling Centre be named in Janet’s memory and Janet’s family attended the event and unveiled the plaque.
Visitors were offered tours of the building and various stands explained what services and advice were on offer for service users and families.
Jane Miller, Chief Executive said: “Today is an acknowledgement and celebration of staff who work here and to remember those who are sadly no longer with us. It is also to recognise the services that are available here.
