10 things commissioners need to know about us

1) We are an employee-owned social enterprise

Care Plus Group was established as a Community Benefit Society in 2011 and we are proud that all profit we make is reinvested into the development of services for local people. Care Plus is owned by its staff. Every member of staff has a personal single vote. Find out more.

2) We are ISO accredited

Care Plus Group has achieved the highest possible standard available for quality. We are one of the first Health and Care organisations in the country to have been assessed by a third party to have achieved the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Standard.

Our IT Department ensures complete confidence that all of our systems are secure with our “Information Security Management System” accreditation with ISO27001:2013.

3)  We are a fully integrated health & social care provider

Care Plus provides community health and care services for adults of all ages and exists to support people to achieve their best quality of life.

We are at the national forefront of integration between Health and Social Care, please feel free to contact us for more information.

4)  Our services receive national recognition

The Health and Wellbeing Collaborative has received national recognition for its work. The Early Presentation of Cancer Symptoms Programme has helped shape government policy on cancer awareness and early presentation in Primary Care.

Care Plus Group has also been awarded HSJ Awards, Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards and received commendation in the UK Employee Ownership Awards and shortlisted in many others.

5) Our services are meeting Care Quality Commission (CQC) national standards

The CQC regulates Care Plus Group to provide health and care services and has found our services to be meeting all CQC national standards.

We also provide advice and support to other organisations on how to operate to the highest of standards and how they need to operate to be compliant with CQC standards.

6) As an Employee Owned organisation, we value our staff and volunteers

As an Employee Owned organisation our staff take an active part in the direction and continued improvements to our service.

Research has shown that Employee Owned organisations tend to be more efficient, with better staff engagement and retention, which has a positive effect on the quality of the services we deliver.

7) We value feedback

Our “Friends and Family” test results are outstanding. This is where we ask our staff “how likely are you to recommend your organisation to friends and family to receive care”.

When we ask “How likely are you to recommend your organisation to friends and family as a place to work? (Extremely Likely or Likely)” our results are also amazing.

8) We care about the environment

Care Plus is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and in May 2015 installed photo voltaic panels to the South Elevation of The Val Waterhouse Centre – the largest visible array of photo voltaic panels on a single building in North East Lincolnshire.

Some of our other buildings, such as Open Door and Queen Street also have energy efficient facilities that help towards our sustainability.

9) We are proud to be based in the heart of the communities we serve

CPG chose The Val Waterhouse Centre (formerly Freeman Street Resource Centre), in the heart of one of Grimsby’s East Marsh, as the base for its headquarters building which it purchased at the beginning of 2014.

The building is a hive of activity hosting a café, open access computers, meeting rooms available for community hire and a number of services such as employability co-located in the same building.

The building is in use 24 hours a day, seven days a week and the general public can call in to speak to someone on reception between 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday to enquire about services or be signposted. Outside of these hours, 24 hour telephone triage is provided from this location meaning a whole host of vital services are provided from a location in the heart of the communities we serve.

10) We reinvest in North East Lincolnshire

90% of CPG’s employees live in North East Lincolnshire and 44% of supply chain spend remains here which gives a ratio of £1:£1.93 – meaning that for every £1 spent with CPG generates £1.93 economic value for North East Lincolnshire.
