Jake celebrates gaining a voluntary placement at Finity IT in Scunthorpe.
Jake joined the North Lincolnshire arm of Employability Services Supported Employment to build his confidence and self-belief and to gain valuable, hands-on experience to support his qualifications to secure paid employment in IT.
Employability Support Officer, Annette Dray, arranged for Jake to attend Finity IT as she felt this placement would suit Jake’s needs, ease his anxiety and increase his self-belief.
Jake said:
“I am enjoying the placement and, as a result, I feel I am no longer unemployable.”
His manager, Jordan, said:
“Watching Jake develop and build his confidence has been a really positive experience. We are here to not only get people work ready, but also to support them in becoming more confident people.”
Annette Dray, Employability Support Officer, said:
“Jake was anxious and lacked confidence. Initially he said he would try the placement for a couple of hours but now attends a full day. It is inspiring to see him flourish and I wish him continued success.”
