Aaran Lusby – Journey to success

Toni Davies, Employability Job Coach at Care Plus Group's Employability Services shares a recent success story:

A laughing Aaran Lusby celebrates as he joins the Employability Services Team ‘Supported Employment’ Initiative to help him gain paid employment.

Aaran, who recently graduated from Linkage College, wanted to continue volunteering at The Original Factory Shop in Cleethorpes, where he has successfully completed a Supported Internship Programme.  Aaron’s ambition is to achieve a paid job, so in order for Aaran to continue building on his previous success, the Employability Services Team agreed to further support Aaran in his role and in his ambition.

The Supported Employment Scheme allows Aaran to continue to gain work experience while being supported by an Employability Support Officer who will plan regular reviews, monitor his training, build a CV and help him apply for jobs when he is ready.

Aaran has already learnt many new skills such as stock rotation and placing products, however he is ready to take his skill set to a whole new level and is looking forward to mastering the sales till and tannoy system!

Toni Davies – Aaran’s Employability Support Assistant – says, “Aaran is mature in his outlook and has definite ambitions for himself.  In deciding to commit to the Supported Employment initiative, Aaran can further build on his skills and hopefully go on to gain that paid employment he seeks.  We are looking forward to great things from Aaran!”

Ian Whitmore, Manager of The Original Factory Shop, says “Aaran has already proved himself to be a valued member of the team at The Original Factory Shop.  We are very happy he has decided to stay on as a volunteer and increase his retail skills.  He is a pleasure to work with!”
