Local provider of community health and adult care services, Care Plus Group is shining a light on renewable energy with the installation of solar panels on the roof of their Headquarters building.
This week sees the installation of 120 solar panels on the roof of Freeman Street Resource Centre on Kent Street in Grimsby. This will be one of the largest visible arrays of solar panels on a single building in North East Lincolnshire and will provide numerous benefits to the organisation and to the environment.
Neil Cartwright, Head of Service for Care Plus Group said:
“This installation will provide us with solar power and will significantly reduce our power consumption, it will generate income and reduce cost and this investment will pay for itself within the first 6 years. As a Community Benefit Society, where any profit we make is reinvested into developing services for the local population this is really good news for the people of North East Lincolnshire. “
“As a social enterprise it is really important to us at Care Plus Group that we publically demonstrate our commitment to the environment and are continuing to reduce the carbon footprint of our organisation. We are also determined as an organisation to use local contractors and it is particularly pleasing that our Kent Street neighbours Wil-Lec won the competitive tender process.“
Steve Wilson, Director of Wil-Lec said:
“We are really pleased to be involved with the first installation of solar panels for Care Plus Group and we are certain that they will very soon see the enormous benefits of installing this amazing technology.”
