The Kickstart programme is a government initiative aimed at supporting young people aged 16-24 years onto an employment pathway by providing funding to create job placements.
Cariss French has been supported by her Employability Support Officer to engage on a pathway to employment; firstly conducting a voluntary placement to gain hands on skills, followed by a Traineeship placement to further enhance skills and knowledge and ultimately gaining this paid Kickstart opportunity.
Cariss says this Kickstart opportunity is really exciting and gives her the opportunity to get paid to do something she loves. It has helped her to resettle into life in England after returning home from Australia last year and now build a career for her future.
