David Low – ‘Journey to Success’

David was overjoyed by gaining paid employment with Care4all after years of volunteering.

David was supported to gain paid employment as an IT Technician at Care4All after showing commitment, skills, and knowledge in IT by Supported Employment. David was able to enhance already existing skills to conduct his role and always showing professionalism when dealing with other staff within Grant Thorold Community Hub.

David suffers from anxiety and depression, and gaining employment has helped him keep focused and in a routine.

Recently and secretively, David took his theory test and driving test. David said, "I turned up at my Mum’s house and she had no idea that it was my car parked outside”. David now no longer has to use public transport which partly caused his stress and anxiety.

At a recent review held at Grant Thorold Community Hub, Claire Borman, Business Support Officer said, “David is an asset to Care4all and once he settles properly into his role, I am sure he will begin to see how appreciated his efforts are”.

David said, “I couldn’t be happier with the role. It has been very liberating and barring issues with health. It has been perfect for me”.

“Well done David. A great achievement” said Nicola Price, Supported Employment Officer.
