Employability Services - Shortlisted for the Skills for Care Accolades for Best Employer Support for Apprenticeship 2015/16

Employability Services, part of Care Plus Group Social Enterprise will attend the Skills for Care Employer Accolades in Birmingham on 10th March 2016, having been shortlisted for the Best Apprenticeship Support Accolades 2015/16.

The Best Employer support for Apprenticeship Accolades recognises employer’s commitment to the apprenticeship programme and rewards the best of the best employers who are committed to delivering high quality care and developing their workforce. Apprenticeships continue to be a popular route to social care qualifications offering a broad development programme that equips apprentices with the skills and knowledge to deliver high quality care and support. Employability Services have demonstrated their investment in apprentices and recognises the positive impact this has had on their and other local organisations.

Employability Services consider apprenticeships as a vital part of Care Plus Group recruitment model and support other local employers to embed apprenticeships within their workforce by acting as a cost effective training and recruitment ‘hub’ for all sectors across North East Lincolnshire. This enables other businesses to enjoy the success of how apprenticeships can add value to all sectors.

Since Employability Services introduced apprenticeships as an ‘add on’ to their voluntary scheme it is evident that recruiting an apprentice is a cost effective and quality recruitment method which also supports the local worklessness agenda.

Sharon Stead, Employability Services Manager said ‘Care Plus Group continue to embrace the successes of apprentices and due to the local talent many apprentices have already been promoted within the organisation.’ Employability Services success continues to increase resulting in 94% of apprentices gaining sustainable employment after apprenticeship completion in 2014.
