Employability Services win Regional Apprenticeship Award for second year running

Care Plus Group’s Employability Services team are celebrating after being crowned winners in a regional award ceremony for the second year running.

The service, which helps people get back into work has won the Health Education Yorkshire and the Humber Apprenticeship Awards for NHS Employer of the Year. The team also won this award last year.

Sharon Stead, Employability Services Manager at Care Plus said:

“To be named as winners for a second year running is a fantastic achievement for the team. We work with hundreds of people across North East Lincolnshire offering them apprenticeships, work placements and support getting back on the employment ladder and it is rewarding to see the people we support go on to be successful in their chosen careers. Of the apprentices we support, 92% are kept on after their apprenticeship ends.
“The team are delighted to have been recognised regionally for their achievements.”

One of the Apprentices supported by Employability, Bryndis Halldorsson, was also shortlisted for the category of Clinical Apprentice of the Year. Bryndis is based at Freeman Street Resource Centre with the 360 team as an Apprentice Health Care Assistant and started her apprenticeship framework in September 2013.

The Employability Services team were presented with their award at a prestigious awards event at the Crowne Plaza Leeds on March 7.
