Ben joined Care Plus Group as a Trainee IT Service Desk Technician in January 2018 when he applied for a fixed term Intermediate Labour Market training opportunity via Employability Services.
Ben had previously worked in roles where he had given excellent customer service, but had never had experience within an IT role. He did however have a natural aptitude when it came to technology and software and he was extremely keen to learn.
Within a matter of weeks Ben had demonstrated his skillset and this along with his excellent work ethic, ensured that he became a vital member of the team.
Ben has recently been successful in gaining a substantive role as IT Service Desk Technician, which he is obviously delighted about.
Ben’s line manager, Dave Whitfield says of Ben, “When we interviewed for the Service Desk position we knew we were looking for someone with fantastic customer service skills, a positive hard working attitude and an enthusiasm that would fit in with our team ethos. Ben impressed us all in his interview and it became clear straight away that he would be a good fit for the team”.
Amanda Thomas, Apprenticeship Development Officer says, “It was apparent right from the start that Ben would be an asset to the IT Team. He fitted in so well! I am delighted that he can now start his career within a specialty he aspired to”.
