Employability Success Story – June Morgan

June impresses employers as she gains promotion.

June was originally referred to Employability Services Supported Employment, to gain some support in returning to work. She hadn’t worked for several years due to recovering from knee surgery. However, June put this time to good use by studying various qualifications to build her knowledge around Mental Health and Social Care. All June asked for now, was some hands on experience to improve her chances of gaining employment.

June’s Employability Support Officer; Tracy Chaplin organised for her to participate in a placement at Tukes, Navigo to work alongside their Senior Support Worker to gain the skills needed to start her career.

June’s passion to support others and work within care blossomed and she was soon offered a job as a Support Worker with a local residential home for adults with complex needs. However, June soon realised she had more to offer and wanted to continue learning, therefore within a few months, she applied and was ultimately successful, in gaining another opportunity as Care Supervisor.

June is exuberant about the progress she is making in her career and has recently moved company again to settle in a Care Supervisor role that has more suitable hours for her needs.

Tracy Chaplin says that “June has always been very passionate about helping others achieve their full potential…and wants to support Service Users as well as other Support Staff to do so.”

June states that she is “very excited about all the new opportunities that she has had in the last year and is very grateful for the opportunity to kick start her new career and gain financial independence”.
