Employability Success Story - Michael Lee

Michael is currently undertaking a voluntary placement at Scope, where he has increased his knowledge and skills and gained a certificate in Customer Care.  He has also recently completed PAT testing training, which has led to him now PAT testing all the electrical items that are donated to the shop.

Michael was initially referred to Supported Employment by the Rehabilitation Team.  Michael sustained serious injuries following a motorbike accident and it was felt that Michael would benefit from the support of Supported Employment, to enable him to regain his confidence and gain new skills.

Michael said, “I feel I have come a long way since my accident and my memory is improving”.

Tina Askew, Assistant Manager agreed with Michael and added, “Michael has done really well with the PAT testing for the shop and has boosted shop sales”.

With continued support from Nicola Price, Supported Employment Officer, Michael aspires to gain paid employment in a retail environment, where he can transfer the skills and experience he has gained within Scope.
