Fairways Care Home has been rated Good overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in a recent inspection.
It was rated Good for being safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led, following an unannounced inspection in November 2018.
Fairways Care Home provides residential care to 55 older people in one purpose built building, with some of the people using the service living with dementia.
- The home was clean, spacious and suitable for the people who used the service
- There were sufficient numbers of staff on duty to meet the needs of people who used the service
- Medicines were stored safely and securely, and procedures were in place to ensure people received medicines as prescribed
- People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives, and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible
The CQC found people and family members were complimentary about the standard of care at Fairways Care Home. Staff treated people with dignity and respect and helped to maintain people’s independence by encouraging them to care for themselves where possible.
Andrew Quigley, Head of Care at Care Plus Group said:
“I’m pleased with our overall ‘Good’ rating the CQC has given us following their inspection at the end of last year. Since Fairways Care Home became part of Care Plus Group in August 2017, we have been working hard to improve the experience of the residents by making improvements to premises, furniture and equipment.
“Our staff have worked extremely hard, and continue to do so, in a busy environment to provide a safe and caring environment and I am proud we have been recognised as a Good provider by the CQC.”
