Jason Devos – Turning a Job into a Passion

Meet Jason, who began his Kickstart job placement as a Patient Liaison Assistant at Cambridge Park Rehabilitation and Reablement Unit only a month ago!  Jason provides a vital link between service users, their relatives and clinical staff.

The Kickstart programme is a government initiative aimed at supporting young people aged 16-24 years onto an employment pathway by providing funding to create job placements.

The role of Patient Liaison Assistant is a new role within Cambridge Park and Jason has really embraced the opportunity to make the role his own.

Jason says: “I could never imagine being in a place that makes me feel so valued and proud. Every day I am challenged with new tasks but have gained the skills and confidence to tackle anything sent my way.  I came here thinking it would be just another job and another way to make money, but now with this opportunity to create and mould my role I have turned my job into a passion. It is such a privilege to be where I am now and I could not have done it without the Kickstart scheme.

Amanda Thomas, Employability Services Deputy Manager, adds: “On first meeting Jason I knew he had a lot to offer an employer and he has not proved me wrong.  Jason is an asset to Cambridge Park and to Care Plus Group as a whole.  It is my pleasure to support him on his Kickstart work placement”.
