Life Skills Programme Upskills Community and Builds Confidence

Michelle Lister, Supported Employment Team Leader for Employability Services; and The Trin Centre have teamed up to develop and deliver a Life Skills Course to support participants towards employment, improve social inclusion and build valuable life skills.

Pictured are some of the participants enjoying their final session developing their cooking skills and receiving their certificate of completion.

The Life Skills Course proved successful and there was an observable growth in confidence within the group.

There were six sessions exploring topics such as money management, job searching, personal development and cooking. Participants learnt skills that can significantly improve their independence and ability to access their local community.

Michelle was asked about her experience delivering the course, she said:

“I found it very satisfying and rewarding to see how the participants engaged with one another and to watch them flourish and grow in confidence.

“I’d like to give a great big thank you to Fiona Rudrum for her support with the programme, I couldn’t have done it without you!”
