“Making a difference to people’s lives.” – Mel’s Story

Mel celebrates being offered a full time role at Lifeways in Grimsby.

She joined Employability Services to gain work experience in order to gain full time paid employment in the Care Sector.

She has been working as a volunteer at St Andrew’s Hospice Shop as a retail assistant to improve her confidence until the right opportunity came along.

Mel said:

“I have enjoyed my voluntary role but am looking forward to gaining new skills within the care sector and making a difference to people’s lives.”

Annette Dray, Mel’s Employability Support Officer, said:

“Mel has had a variety of paid and voluntary roles but aspired to gain employment in care. This role will allow her to achieve her personal aspirations and to have a positive impact on the lives of others”.
