Volunteers and staff from Care Plus Group’s Health and Wellbeing Collaboratives will be out and about this month raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of both Prostate and Ovarian Cancer.
March is both Prostate and Ovarian Cancer Awareness month and the teams will be marking the month by speaking to as many people as possible about the potential signs and symptoms. You may see the teams in one of a number of community venues during the course of March.
Julie Grimmer, Health and Wellbeing Collaborative Programme Manager said:
“Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in men and 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime. For women, ovarian cancer is the fifth most common cancer and in the UK, around 7,100 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year. These facts show how important it is to raise awareness of these types of cancer.”
