Excess food and toiletries will go to local disadvantaged children and the homeless thanks to kind donations by Care Plus Group staff.
An idea instigated after Christmas by the Healthy Choices Group as a way of clearing out people’s cupboards to make a fresh start in the new year, whilst also helping those less fortunate, has culminated in a large donation.
An influx of chocolate, cakes, biscuits and other treats were provided by staff at the Val Waterhouse Centre, along with a selection of toiletries from the Immingham District Nurses.
Vanessa Cooney, Team Manager from the NSPCC and Dave Carlisle, Day Centre Manager at Harbour Place collected the donations and asked that their thanks and appreciation were passed onto staff for their generous donations. The items will be shared between the NSPCC to be used at groups for local disadvantaged children and the homeless and socially excluded at Harbour Place.
