Roxton Practice – Kickstarts Careers within Health & Social Care

Meet Joseph, Aimee and Bradley, 3 of a group of 4 who all began their Kickstart job placements as Digital Survey Administrators at the Roxton Practice in Immingham in March 2021.

The Kickstart programme is a government initiative aimed at supporting young people aged 16-24 years onto an employment pathway by providing funding to create job placements.

The role of the Digital Survey Administrator is a new role at the Practice, which involves advising patients on how they can contact the surgery remotely, creating new ways of delivering patient care during the pandemic. In addition to this Joseph, Aimee, Bradley and their colleague Sophie (not pictured) were more than happy to be involved in the Covid vaccination clinics held at the Practice, where they provided marshalling duties, assisting in the smooth running to the very busy clinics.

Amanda Thomas, Employability Services Deputy Manager, adds, “When I first met Joseph, Aimee, Bradley and Sophie it was clear they all had a lot to offer an employer, despite a lack of experience and confidence. I am delighted they were given the opportunity to show what they could do and even more delighted when they were all offered sustainable employment at the Practice”.
