Saima Khaled Khan celebrates as she finishes her placement with Employability Services and gains the Receptionist job she wanted!
When Saima returned to work after raising her children, she decided to retrain as an Administration Assistant, looking for a role in Admin or Reception.
Saima approached Employability Services, who supported her with a structured voluntary placement opportunity based within Navigo to help her gain the experience she needed.
Saima undertook Business Administration Level 2, alongside learning on the job and mandatory training for the Social Care environment, such as Safeguarding and Health and Safety.
Saima was very keen to stay at Navigo and, as she came to the end of her placement, she applied for several job opportunities, including a Receptionist post at Open Minds, which she was successful in gaining and has since started her new job!
Toni Davies, Saima’s Employability Support Assistant, says: “When I met Saima I was blown away by her determination and dedication to gain an admin/reception role within Navigo. She worked incredibly hard both on her placement and in her personal time to gain the skills and experience she needed. This has paid off handsomely for her and she got the job she wanted.
