Tribute to Gordon Smith, Trustee of the Care Plus Group Charitable Trust, and loyal volunteer of the Health and Wellbeing Collaborative

Gordon Smith, one of the founder members of the Care Plus Group Charitable Trust  sadly passed away on 13th February.  Gordon was instrumental in setting up the charity, together with  former Chief Executive, Lance Gardner.  During the time that Gordon volunteered as a Trustee, his long experience in the voluntary sector and his former Post Office and RAF service provided him with an ideal approach to the work of the charity, and indeed he was an excellent source of historical reference for the Trustees.

Gordon was also a valued, loyal member of the Health and Wellbeing Collaborative, having been a volunteer almost from the inception of the Cancer Collaborative in 2007.  Gordon was part of the bowel cancer team in Immingham, and played a full and imaginative part in the development of resources to raise awareness of the importance of the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer.

Gordon was generous, both in the giving of his time and also in providing  some very special donations to the Health and Wellbeing Collaboratives over the years.  A very special man.  Rest in Peace dear Gordon.
