Voluntary placement leads to full time paid role for Aaron

Aaron is looking forward to starting his new job after receiving employment support from Supported Employment.

During Aaron’s initial interview with his Support Officer, Aaron said that he really wanted to get into work and start being financially independent but was not feeling very confident about his own skills and abilities. He was more than willing to consider a variety of workplaces and working roles including care, support, catering, and retail however wanted support to identify his own strengths.

Aaron had previously taken part in many different programmes to enhance his working skills and knowledge and was more than happy to conduct a Voluntary Placement with Employability Services to gain even more hands on working experience. Whilst waiting for his placement to start, Aaron’s Support Officer; Tracy Chaplin, offered continuous support and encouragement to update CV’s and apply for job vacancies.

Aaron’s hard work and commitment ultimately led to him being offered a full time role as a Catering/Bar Assistant at Thorpe Park, Cleethorpes, with training to start immediately. Aaron was very excited at this prospect and said: “I am very determined to succeed in this role and show my family what I can do”.

Tracy Chaplin (Employability Support Officer) also added: “I will continue to support Aaron through his transition into employment to help him sustain his new job into the future and wish him the best of luck to succeed”.
