Kim Ward, Manager at C.A.R.E Food Larder, came to collect an impressive amount of food, toiletries and monetary donations from CPG staff yesterday and was overwhelmed by the generosity, saying of staff “thank you, you are all wonderful”.
As well as boxes and boxes of food and toiletries, donated by staff at The Val Waterhouse Centre, The Beacon and The Discharge Liaison Team, there was also an anonymous donation of £52. Chris Barber from Intermediate Care at Home also raised £55 from making chutney which staff could purchase for a donation.
“Thank you, this is exactly what we need right now, we rely on donations like these. Our figures at the moment have gone up 300% in the last 2 years and the number of children we are supporting has risen sharply. We have quite a lot of large families who have been to us and a lot of the reasons are related to social welfare reforms. These items are perfect and will make a big difference.”
Kim wanted to thank all staff who had donated and offer the opportunity to anyone who wanted to come and visit the Food Larder and see the work they do for themselves to get in touch.
