Cromwell Road Resource Centre

Set in approximately two acres of beautiful grounds, Cromwell Road Resource Centre provides a wide range of activities and support for adults with disabilities or complex needs.

The grounds are maintained by staff and volunteers from our “Potting Shed” group and are an outdoor resource for the benefit of our service users.

During the last few years, staff, service users and volunteers have planted over fifty indigenous trees on the site as well as a fruit orchard.  Swathes of the site have been seeded with wildflowers and left unmown to encourage pollinators and a range of insect hotels and bird boxes have been installed.  Our sensory garden and pond attract a range of wildlife including rare newts and dragonflies.

Our wildlife cameras and weather station allow us to bring the outdoors inside involving everyone in the wildlife of the centre.

Hosting a tree nursery and poly tunnels the potting shed is used to grow fruit and vegetables as well as to develop a large stock of trees and shrubs all lovingly cared for by our volunteers.  This year will see the installation of a shaded summerhouse to allow more service users to benefit from outdoor activities.
