Adult Learning Disability Service (ALDS)


The Adult Learning Disability Service (ALDS) provides a range of services for adults with learning disabilities. The service incorporates the Community Learning Disability Team (CLDT) the Intensive Support Team (IST), the Adult Learning Disability (ALD) Psychology Service and the Carers Support Service, based at the Queen Street Centre close to the centre of Grimsby. The ALDS is for adults and young people in transition who have a learning disability, autism and/or complex needs, their families, carers and supporters.

  • Support people to maintain and improve their health and wellbeing
  • Provide psychology services and intensive support
  • Support people to make their own choices and decisions
  • Support carers with their caring role
  • Work in partnership with other providers and supporters to provide co-ordinated services
  • Provide education, training and support to people with learning disabilities, their families, other learning disability providers, mainstream health services and other health and social care professionals.
