Who are Care Plus’ services for?

Care Plus delivers health and social care services to adults living across North East Lincolnshire.

How do I access Care Plus’ services?

More often than not you will be referred to a service from your GP or from another healthcare professional, however some services can be accessed via self referral. Please contact individual services to find out how to be referred.

Who will check Care Plus delivers services to the same standard as the NHS?

Just like any provider of NHS services including Hospitals and Foundation Trusts, Care Plus is registered with the Care Quality Commission, the independent regulator of health and social care in England. Where necessary our staff are professionally qualified and registered with the industry bodies relevant to their area of expertise.

Who pays for the services Care Plus delivers?

Care Plus is contracted by North East Lincolnshire Council, North East Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), the Home Office and the Department of Health to deliver a range of adult health and social care Services.

What type of organisation is Care Plus?

Care Plus is a Community Benefit Society, a type of Social Business. Community Benefit Societies are Incorporated Industrial and Provident Societies (IPS) that conduct business for the benefit of their community. Profits are not distributed among members, or external shareholders, but returned to the organisation to maintain and develop services for the benefit of their communities. Community Benefit Societies are set up with social objectives and are run and managed by their members.

Why has Care Plus set up as a Community Benefit Society?

A Community Benefit Society is about society. It’s embracing of staff, giving each staff member a vote, and is inclusive of staff views and opinions. Ensuring staff have a voice means Care Plus consistently understands the needs of the communities we work in and continues to deliver the services needed.

What is a Social Business?

A Social Business is a business or service which primarily has social objectives. Like any business, it aims to makes a profit through providing goods or services to customers. The difference between a business and a social business is that social business reinvests its profits back into making a difference rather than being driven by the need to maximise profit for shareholders and owners.

What is the benefit of being a social business?

As a social business we have greater flexibility. Any profit made by Care Plus is reinvested back into the development and delivery of services so, alongside delivering the contracts we already have, we can constantly evolve and develop the services we offer to communities to better meet people’s needs.

Who owns Care Plus?

Care Plus is owned by its staff. Every member of staff has a personal single vote.

What happens to any money/profit that Care Plus makes?

Any profit made by Care Plus is reinvested back into the development and delivery of services. This means we can constantly evolve and develop the services we offer to communities.
